About This Work

Ascension Study is a vertical exploration of growth and transformation, carved in pristine white marble. The work rises as a meditation on the human journey toward enlightenment and self-discovery, each form ascending toward an infinite possibility. Standing at 2.2 meters, this private commission represents a defining moment in the artist's practice, the beginning of a dialogue between material and meaning that would characterize subsequent works.

Carved in pristine white marble, the work catches light at different times of day. As the sun moves across the sky, new dimensions reveal themselves, shadows deepen, surfaces brighten, and the marble seems to breathe, the immaterial meeting the material in a dance of light and stone.
